LHI Non-Discrimination Policy

 Last Updated November 5, 2024

Lifting Hands International (LHI) is an impact-focused 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing clear and meaningful ways for you, your family, and your community to help refugees at home and abroad. Our vision is to create a world where compassion transcends national, ethnic, religious, and political divides. Since 2016, our dynamic and passionate team has responded to the ongoing refugee crisis by meeting the most immediate and vital needs of thousands of refugee families. With minimal overhead and thousands of volunteers, we fill gaps and rapidly adapt to conditions on the ground in ways larger organizations often can’t.

LHI is committed to equal employment, volunteer opportunities, and beneficiary services without regard to age, ancestry, physical or mental disability, national or ethnic origin, race, religious belief, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital or veteran status.

This policy applies to all areas of employment and volunteer participation, including recruitment, hiring, training and development, promotion, transfer, termination, layoff, compensation, benefits, social and recreational programs, all other conditions and privileges of employment in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws. It also applies to how we approach our beneficiaries. LHI understands that refugee needs often come from cultural, ethnic, political, and gendered dynamics worldwide. However, we seek to solve them as human problems, with efficacy born of data and direct experience. We offer aid based on others' need and our capacity, not on the identity of recipients.
